Modern Warfare 4 Launch Roster: 33 Operators, 33 Weapons and a More Flexible Loadout System

Ahead of launch, Activision laid out the full starting roster for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's multiplayer side. The game launched on October 23 with 33 operators to choose from, and those operators are available in both Multiplayer and DMZ.

How players unlock that roster varies. Some operators are available right away, while others are earned through an in-game challenge or come as pre-order or Vault Edition incentives, giving returning and new players different paths into the full lineup.

The loadout system got attention too. Players can now assign an individual operator to each loadout, rather than being tied to a single choice across every setup, which makes it easier to match a character to a particular play style.

Weapons are just as deep at launch. Modern Warfare 4 arrived with 33 weapons, and the official breakdown covers every weapon available in Multiplayer and DMZ, along with detailed stats and unlock criteria for each one.

Beyond guns and characters, the guide walks through the rest of a multiplayer build. It covers field upgrades, tactical and lethal equipment, killstreaks and perks, and explains when content unlocks across the player journey, so players can plan their progression from day one.
