Puckoff: Reloaded brings story-driven, no-rules hockey to Xbox

A hockey game where scoring is only one way to win has arrived on Xbox Series X|S. Puckoff: Reloaded launched on October 30, priced at $14.99, from five-person Finnish studio Kuura Playhouse Oy, and it builds its whole identity around underground hockey with a story wrapped around it. Between matches, the game leans on a visual-novel style presentation to follow a search for a legend. The player is chasing Dominator, an underground hockey figure who, the story goes, has never lost a game, and getting closer to him means proving yourself against the characters who inhabit that world. On the ice, the rules bend. Goals count, but so do assists and knockouts, and nobody in this world seems bothered by the fighting. The biggest tests come in the Cage, an underground setting where boss-style opponents each bring their own identity and way of playing rather than just another team to outscore. The team backing the player includes Sarah, described as an ever-cheerful goalie, Eddie, and a seen-it-all Coach. The game is the latest and expanded version of PUCKOFF, previously available only on personal computers.
