Sony's October PlayStation Plus Game Catalog is a nine-game drop, and it is built around three very different headliners. Mafia: The Old Country brings a full mob story to the service, Horizon Forbidden West returns after an earlier run, and Mycopunk arrives on its launch day — the kind of day-one addition that usually makes a catalog month stand out on its own.
The lineup was announced on the PlayStation Blog on October 14, 2026, with most games available to play from October 20, unless a different date is noted. The catalog is for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, and Premium adds two more titles on top of the shared list.
Mafia: The Old Country leads the shared list on PlayStation 5. Set in early 20th-century Sicily, it follows the origins of organized crime in the series' brutal underworld, and it joins the catalog a little over a year after its original release. Horizon Forbidden West returns on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, which Sony describes as a PlayStation Plus re-release — a second chance for anyone who missed Aloy's open-world journey the first time around.
Mycopunk is the day-one story. The PlayStation 5 co-op looter shooter, from Pigeons at Play, launches worldwide into the catalog on October 20, so Extra and Premium members get the full release at no extra cost on release day. It is a four-player, mission-based shooter built around fighting fungal enemies with a heavily customizable arsenal, and Sony highlights hundreds of hand-crafted upgrades.
The rest of the month is staggered. The Midnight Walk arrived first, on October 14 in the United States and United Kingdom and October 15 in Japan. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, Tales of Arise — Beyond the Dawn Edition and Monster Energy Supercross 25 follow on October 27. Premium members also get Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition, both on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, from October 20, and Premium Game Trials for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II open the same day.
One practical note from Sony applies to the whole list: catalog lineups may differ by region, so it is worth checking the PlayStation Store on release day rather than assuming every date applies everywhere.
For subscribers, the takeaway is straightforward. This is not a filler month — it pairs a headline story game, a returning open-world hit and a genuine day-one launch, with a classic horror game and a theme-park builder tucked into Premium. If you only try one thing, try Mycopunk on day one, because that is the game you cannot get anywhere else in the catalog this month.
