Players planning to jump into World of Warcraft: Forever can now stake a claim on the names they want to carry into the game. Blizzard has opened Early Name Reservations, a window running from October 27 through November 3 that gives eligible players a chance to secure character names before play begins in earnest.
The window is aimed at players who have already committed to one of the qualifying editions. Those who pre-purchased the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack, or the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection can take part. Blizzard also notes that purchase of the World of Warcraft: Forever Digital Upgrade or Collector's Edition is required, and that the benefit applies only to the specific World of Warcraft account it was purchased for.
During the reservation period, eligible players can create and reserve names for up to three characters in total across all Rulesets. That total is shared, not per ruleset, so choices made in one ruleset count against the same three-character allowance. Names are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, and Blizzard is clear that a desired name cannot be guaranteed, so popular names may already be taken by the time a player logs in.
For players still deciding, the timing matters: the reservation window closes on November 3, and the names secured during this period are meant to become part of their adventures in Azeroth. Anyone eligible should therefore check their account, confirm which edition they own, and reserve their preferred names while the window is open rather than leaving it to the last day.
