Devolver Digital has given Tenjutsu a fresh look at gameplay, putting its high-tempo combat front and centre. The publisher's October 28, 2026 news item presents the game under the banner of pure rogue-jutsu flow, a fitting label for a title built around one fighter taking on the odds.
Players step into the shoes of a renegade yakuza who is determined to defy her former associates. That premise drives the action: a lone fighter pushing back against the criminal world she left behind, with speed and fluidity at the heart of every encounter.
Tenjutsu comes from Sebastien Benard, the designer of Dead Cells, and the gameplay look leans on that pedigree, framing the game as a fast and fluid rogue-jutsu rather than a slow, methodical brawler. The emphasis is on momentum, with the hero cutting through opposition in a style that rewards aggressive, confident play.
Devolver lists Tenjutsu as coming to PC and Switch 2 in 2027. With the new gameplay footage now public, the game moves from a name to watch into a title with a clear shape, a clear hero, and a clear release window for players to plan around.
