Planet Zoo 2 launched on October 13, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, bringing Frontier Developments' zoo management series back with its biggest change yet: animals that swim and fly.
For the first time in the series, players can build fully customisable aquariums and aviaries, alongside traditional land habitats. That opens up a much wider roster, with more than 130 animals in the game, each with its own needs and behaviours, and what Frontier describes as the most true-to-life representation of animals in the series to date.
The sequel also looks beyond the zoo gates. A new Wildlife Reserves mode lets players work at conservation sites around the world, raising animals and releasing them into ecosystems they help restore, giving the management loop a purpose that stretches past ticket sales and guest happiness.
Players take on the role of the Fauna and Ecosystems Network's newest Conservation Coordinator, a framing that puts conservation at the centre of the experience rather than treating it as a side activity.
Planet Zoo 2 is available for a suggested retail price of £39.99, $49.99 or €49.99 for the Standard Edition, and £54.99, $64.99 or €64.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which adds six additional animal species.
