Delta Force Lets You Play the Boss in Its New Polaris Patrol Mode

Delta Force has a new way to run an operation. Garena's October 15 update introduces Polaris Patrol, a mini-mode inside Operations that flips the usual hunt on its head: instead of only tracking down targets, one squad steps into the shoes of the people normally running security.

In Polaris Patrol, players choose to play as Desmoulins, the Haavk security director at the centre of the mode's story, or as her Adjutant. Picking a role changes how your character looks and what they can do in a match, and once you are in, your role grants fresh abilities for holding off incoming operators. Squads playing as Desmoulins also get their own exclusive in-match gameplay, giving the defending side a distinct flavour rather than a simple reskin.

The story behind the mode is a double crisis for Desmoulins. Garena's update notes point to the Space City incident and the AZ3 crisis, along with pressure from Hudson and doubts raised by his daughter Cami, as the backdrop that pushes the security director into the spotlight. That framing gives the mode a narrative hook beyond its mechanics, even as the moment-to-moment play stays focused on extraction-style objectives.

Results in Polaris Patrol are worked out from how well your operation goes, with Performance Points handed out for that performance. There are also mode-specific rewards to chase, including a Desmoulins reward crate with a chance at red-quality items such as Petite Madame and the Requin Model, which can be combined once both are collected. A Desmoulins-exclusive look for the M700 sniper rifle, called Serenity, is also on offer, along with a special attachment that becomes craftable once the mode reaches its Hunter stage, capped at 10 per week.

The mode became visible after the October 15 update and is available from October 16 at 08:00 until January 27, 2027 (UTC+8), giving players a long window to try both sides of the fight. Around it, a 7-day login event runs from October 16 to October 25, with rewards including TurBrick Deltaversary Gifts, an Armament Voucher and Graffiti Art for the PSG-1 for players who sign in across all seven days.

The update also touches ranked play, with improved matchmaking for Legend tier and above so players face more evenly matched opponents, though Garena notes that matchmaking times may be longer as a result. Players who hit any snag after updating are advised to restart the game to finish the update, and anyone on an out-of-date client will need the latest version to log in.
