Honkai: Star Rail Sends the Trailblazer Into a Secret Lab to Stop a Weaponized Husk Plot

Honkai: Star Rail's Version 4.6 was announced on September 20, 2026, and officially launched on September 28. It is the most recent full version announcement on HoYoverse's news page behind the October Zenless Zone Zero update, and it takes the Trailblazer deep into Astropolis after a major identity reveal: Nihilux is now openly Aha, the Aeon of Elation.

The story heads into the Life Sciences Institute, the source of all imagenae in Astropolis, built under Madam Yabuli, head of the IPC's Technology Department. Yabuli is pushing a plan to weaponize the husk at the cost of every life in Planarcadia, and is even suspected of ties to a faction that worships the Voracity. To stop her, Pearl uses the recovery of Leviathan Essence as a cover to send Kuchiba and Ashveil on a coordinated investigation into the institute, teaming up with the Trailblazer and Nihilux to break the conspiracy apart.

Pearl herself becomes playable in this version as a 5-star Ice character on the Path of Elation. As the CEO of Planarcadia she is known for raw computational power and level-headed decisions, and she once arranged the evacuation of the region's residents onto the Astral Express while staying behind to oversee a ritual herself. In combat she can spend her Certified Banger to absorb part of the damage dealt to all allies, and she can enter a Deep Learning state to study a chosen teammate's combat data and gain a matching Enhanced Attack. That attack deals extra Elation damage if the teammate follows Elation, and if the whole team is Elation-aligned, the teammate gains an extra turn along with a large amount of Punchline and Certified Banger. Her arrival is backed by boosted drop rates for Pearl and for the limited 5-star Light Cone Colors for Tomorrow, with Evanescia rerunning in the first half of the version and Mortenax Blade returning in the second.

The event lineup is just as full. Love, Ghosts & Robots has the Trailblazer helping the resurrected Skott run a mechatron workshop, building and selling mechatrons until the shop earns a five-star rating. The Interastral Peace Gala: One Take stages a large combat reality show, and the brand-new Astral Imagea system lets players collect companions to tag along on adventures and team up with friends for the Astral Slammers Squad challenge. Two new outfits arrive together in the Outfit Show Window: Hyacine's Warm Cotton Skies and Evanescia's Lunar Blossoming.

Beyond the game itself, HoYoverse announced a collaboration with Razer, with a Silver Wolf LV.999-themed gaming chair, keyboard, mouse and headset releasing simultaneously across multiple regions, with more details to come. The company also confirmed that Ellen and Astra Yao from Zenless Zone Zero will join the cosmic adventure in Version 4.8. Honkai: Star Rail is available on PC, iOS, Android, the Epic Games Store and PS5, has passed 150 million total downloads, and is rated Teen by the ESRB and PEGI 12.
