Black Desert Raises Its Level Cap to 75 in Progression Overhaul

OFFICIAL Written by GPN · Nov 1, 2026, 8:39 PM ET · Black Desert · Gaming

Black Desert's maximum character level is now 75, Pearl Abyss announced in its October 8, 2026 update. The cap rises from 70, and characters stop gaining experience once they reach 75, although experience for a tagged character continues to accumulate as before.

The change ends an era in which Black Desert had no fixed level cap, with the experience required climbing ever more steeply at higher levels. Pearl Abyss said the revamp is meant to make levelling more rewarding, with clearer benefits and milestones at each level rather than an open-ended grind.

Those milestones are tangible. Characters gain bonus stats from level 70 onward, reaching an extra 18 attack power against monsters and 18 monster damage reduction at level 75, and the in-game display of character level and combat experience has been improved so progress is easier to follow.

The update also adds the common skill Godslayer: Force Palm, giving players another option in combat, alongside a four-week Mythical Horse event and the return of the Halloween event at Marni's Playground, which runs from October 8 to November 5.
