Sonic and Shadow's Combined Adventure Passes Three Million Sales Worldwide

SEGA has a new sales milestone to celebrate for its blue hedgehog. On October 26, 2026, the publisher announced that Sonic X Shadow Generations has surpassed three million unit sales worldwide.

The timing is fitting. The game was first released on October 25, 2024, so the announcement landed almost exactly two years after launch, and it arrives during the year of Sonic's 35th anniversary.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is a two-part package. One half is a complete remaster of Sonic Generations, bringing together a greatest-hits collection of 3D and 2D Sonic stages with upgraded visuals and added bonus content. The other half is Shadow Generations, a brand-new campaign starring Shadow the Hedgehog.

The game is available across a wide range of platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. SEGA published the title itself.

The three-million figure is a worldwide total. It shows that, two years on, the pairing of Sonic's remastered greatest hits with Shadow's new campaign is still finding an audience.
