Square Enix has put a firm date on the next chapter of its long-running online role-playing game. FINAL FANTASY XIV: Evercold will launch on Tuesday, February 23, 2027, replacing the January 2027 window the expansion was previously given. The date was revealed during the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Tokyo, giving players a concrete target to plan around after months of waiting for a specific day.
Pre-orders open much sooner, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, covering both the expansion itself and its previously announced Collector's Box. Ordering ahead also brings bonuses and early access a few days before launch, with early access scheduled for Friday, February 19, 2027. That short head start means committed players can step into the new content before the wider launch weekend arrives.
The Tokyo keynote also introduced the expansion's second new job. Zephyr is a physical ranged damage dealer that fights with a crossbow, supported in battle by an avian familiar called Nephele. The pairing gives the job a distinct flavour, mixing ranged shots with companion support, and a trailer was released to show Zephyr in action.
Square Enix also used the announcement to mark a milestone for the game as a whole, confirming that FINAL FANTASY XIV Online has now passed 35 million registered accounts around the world. Evercold is the game's newest expansion, and with a release date, a pre-order date and a new job all now public, the road to February is finally mapped out.
