Merge Tactics Season 11 Reins In the Boss Trait and Its Hardest-Hitting Supers

Supercell's October 27 tuning pass for Clash Royale's Merge Tactics mode goes after the pieces that have been running the show. The headline targets are the Boss trait, the Grand Warden's shields, and a handful of Super troops that were hitting far above their weight, while the Undead trait and the Tomb Queen get a gentler touch in the other direction.

Among the Rulers, the Grand Warden's shields are rebalanced so no single shield dominates: the Star Shield's drop chance falls from 10% to 7%, the Lava, Rage and Slowdown shields tick up slightly from 30% to 31%, and the shield break radius shrinks from 3 hexes to 2, pushing players to think harder about where they stand. The Tomb Queen summons her Skeletons every 3 seconds instead of 4, because the Tombstone was not feeding her quest reliably in the early game. The Battle Machine's buildings grow a little less tanky with each star, dropping from 2% to 1.5% bonus health per star, and its X-Bow slows from a 0.3-second to a 0.5-second hit speed after out-damaging every other building several times over. The Dagger Duchess gets a small break too: her quest window for winning a round moves from under 8 seconds to under 9.

The troop changes are blunt. Super Dark Prince's damage drops from 100 to 75 so he plays more like a teammate and less like the whole team, and Super Mega Knight's damage is halved from 100 to 50 so his knockback and stun do the talking instead of his raw hits. Super Mini P.E.K.K.A can now hand out only one pancake per round instead of several, ending the snowball where he levelled up allies faster than opponents could answer. The Archer Queen's hit speed slows from 1.43 to 1.67 seconds, which means her ability triggers less often and she settles back into a supporting role on the backline.

Traits and equipment get the same treatment. The Boss trait's bonus health is cut at every tier, from 25/50/100/300% down to 15/30/80/200%, its fear range collapses to a single hex, and its fear duration now scales from 0.5 to 3 seconds instead of sitting at a flat 3, after rounds grew slow and stacked fear became miserable to play against. The Undead trait moves the other way, with its bonus health and damage per fallen ally rising from 1/2/4% to 1/3/5%, in the hope that more players actually build around it. The Superstar Ring loses its random ability recasts entirely and now triggers exactly once at Combat Start, giving it a clear job as a strong opener rather than a slot machine.

Taken together, the October 27 update slows down the snowball strategies and rewards positioning over brute force. Players who leaned on Boss-heavy boards, shield-stacked Wardens, or a runaway Mini P.E.K.K.A will need a new plan, while Undead and Tomb Queen lines look like the early winners of the reshuffle.
