Warner Bros. Games announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight would launch worldwide for Nintendo Switch 2 on 18 September 2026, with pre-orders open for a Standard Edition at $69.99 and a Deluxe Edition at $89.99. The game, developed by TT Games, is an open-world action-adventure that follows Bruce Wayne's journey from his origins to becoming Gotham City's protector, with an original story drawing on decades of Batman films, television, comics and games.
The Switch 2 launch arrived with extra content for Deluxe Edition owners. The Mayhem Collection downloadable content, featuring a new Mayhem Mode with The Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters, released the same day, 18 September, for Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Deluxe owners on Switch 2 also received the Legacy Collection at launch, with new suits, vehicles and Batcave items inspired by the Batman: Arkham games, the Batman Beyond series and a party music themed pack.
The Mayhem Collection adds more than just two playable villains. It includes a new story mission and the Sinister Pack, which brings seven new suits, one for each of the main playable characters, five new Batcave items and a new Batmobile for travelling the open world. All Switch 2 pre-orders, Standard and Deluxe alike, also received The Dark Knight Returns batsuit at launch.
Players who already owned the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or PC could buy a Deluxe Edition upgrade for $24.99 to receive the Legacy Collection immediately and the Mayhem Collection on 18 September. Warner Bros. Games also highlighted account-linked bonuses, including the Golden Age batsuit based on Batman's debut look in Detective Comics #27 from 1939, available to players who create or already hold a Warner Bros. Games account.
For Switch 2 owners, the release means TT Games' biggest Batman adventure to date is now playable on Nintendo's hardware with its launch expansions included in the Deluxe package. The combination of an open-world Gotham, a story spanning Batman's history, and a villain-focused mode gives the Switch 2 version a clear reason to exist beyond a straight port.
