Xbox Free Play Days Weekend Serves Up Five Games to Try

Xbox's latest Free Play Days weekend gives Game Pass members a varied lineup to try before buying, running from Thursday, October 29 through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Members on Ultimate, Premium and Essential tiers can sample WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, Darkwood, Spirittea and EVERSPACE 2 during that window, with Spirittea and EVERSPACE 2 also playable across console and PC.

The headliner for many players will be WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, a soulslike action role-playing game set in the land of Shu during the late Ming Dynasty. Its world is torn by warring factions and a strange illness that spawns monstrous creatures, and during the free weekend both editions of the game and its Deluxe Upgrade DLC are discounted by 30 percent.

The rest of the member lineup covers very different moods. Darkwood sends players scavenging through eerie Soviet Bloc forests by day and barricading themselves in a hideout at night, while Spirittea tasks the one person who can see troublesome spirits with getting an old bathhouse running and turning those spirits into paying customers, with the full game half price during the event. EVERSPACE 2, meanwhile, is a fast-paced single-player space shooter across the war-torn systems of the Demilitarized Zone of Cluster 34, discounted by 80 percent with up to 50 percent off its Titans and Wrath of the Ancients expansions.

Players without a Game Pass membership are not left out. Dead by Daylight is free for all Xbox members to try on console from October 28 until November 2, no membership required, with its Haunted by Daylight event adding new tricks and rifts that warp players across the map. The base game is discounted by up to 60 percent, with select DLC also on sale until November 4.

As with past Free Play Days events, progress and achievements earned during the trial carry over if players decide to buy, and discounts and availability can vary by title and region.
