Helldivers 2 unleashes poisonous Noxious Terminids and caves across more biomes

A new Terminid strain is loose in Helldivers 2, and it is not something to take lightly. The Noxious strain, confirmed by the Ministry of Truth, brings fast, venomous bugs to the front lines — and the bugs have been digging, with cave networks now spreading beneath more biomes across the galaxy.

Two new enemy types lead the invasion. The Noxious Scavenger looks like an ordinary Scavenger at first glance, but it is noticeably quicker, every bite delivers poison, and it is ready to bite again almost immediately. The good news: it is fragile, and weapons that reward volume over precision — shotguns, flamethrowers and grenades — will deal with it fast.

The Noxious Spewer is the bigger problem. This hulking, fast-moving monstrosity webs the battlefield, and its Web Spit stops a Helldiver from sprinting so it can close the gap. Its bite is quick, long-reaching and more venomous than a Scavenger's. Its head is protected by medium armor, but its web-filled abdomen is unarmored — burst it and the resulting Web Explosion snares every Helldiver and bug nearby, so aim carefully.

Poison itself is now a tracked status with its own HUD icon. Light poisoning hazes vision and eats away health; heavy poisoning adds damage over time, removes sprinting, and generally ruins your day. Stims cure it, so rationing them for poisoned squadmates matters more than ever.

Meanwhile, bug caves are no longer limited to a handful of worlds. They now have a chance to appear across more biomes, from scorched deserts to frozen tundras, and every planet may have a hive beneath it. Inside, sightlines are short, corners are blind, and fast enemies arrive before you hear them — close-range firepower, squad cohesion and a stim in reserve are the official advice.
