Google is expanding its AI Educator Series, a no-cost, on-demand training programme designed to give educators practical AI skills they can use immediately, to new countries and regions in the coming months: Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia and sub-Saharan Africa.
The series launched in the United States earlier this year, and has since expanded to India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the UK and Ireland. Google's November 3 update pairs the expansion with examples of how teachers are already using the training, from turning complex topics into comics, podcasts and infographics in India to simulating market scenarios in economics classes in the Philippines.
The scale in some regions is large. In the Philippines, Google says it has partnered with the Department of Education, the Commission on Higher Education and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to bring AI training to over one million educators, and the Department of Education has issued a memorandum endorsing the series to teaching and non-teaching staff nationwide. In the UK, all 650,000 teachers can receive digital literacy training through virtual or in-person events, with train-the-trainer workshops in Google's London office in November.
New November modules go live in the United States on November 4, focused on helping educators save time where they say they need it most. The three topics are building interactive assessments with Gemini, guiding students through game-based learning, and strengthening academic assignments so they encourage deeper critical thinking rather than shortcuts.
