PUBG Update 44.1 ends the LMG experiment early and toughens every vehicle

OFFICIAL Written by GPN · Nov 7, 2026, 10:00 AM ET · PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS · Gaming

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 44.1 is live on PC, and its headline change is a U-turn: KRAFTON is ending the LMG Meta Rotation early, sending the M249 and MG3 back to how they were before August. Console players get the update on November 12.

Gunplay

The first LMG Meta Rotation, introduced with the August update, was meant to widen weapon choice, but LMGs became stronger than intended and limited other playstyles. Update 44.1 restores LMG balance to its pre-August level: reload time, recoil, aiming speed, the vehicle damage multiplier, stance-based recoil control and world spawn amounts all revert. The M249 and MG3 return exactly to their pre-August balance, while the RPD, which arrived with the rotation, is tuned to sit in line with the other LMGs. A new Meta Rotation with a different duration and format is planned for 2027.

Vehicles

Every vehicle gets tougher. Health rises 8% for bikes, scooters, buggies, quads, boats and gliders, 10% for cars like the Dacia, UAZ and Mirado, and 15% for the Porter, Pico Bus, Van, Food Truck, Pillar UAZ and BRDM-2. Tyres are tougher too, up to 75% more durable on the big carriers. The Van, Pico Bus and Food Truck gain a 300-capacity trunk, the Coupe RB's trunk grows from 100 to 120, and the BRDM-2 accelerates and climbs better with a higher top speed.

Modes

Dawnbreakers of Rondo returns with a single Nightmare difficulty set in a burning Jadena City, with stronger Hungers spawning more often and earlier, more fuel canisters needed for generators and a tougher final defence. It runs on PC from November 4 to November 25 and on console from November 12 to December 3.

Xeno Point: Hell arrives with a single Hell difficulty that ramps by sector, from the old Normal level up to the old Impossible level in the Mothership. Dying now costs a random equipped weapon as well as everything in the inventory, and enemy health, attack power and currency scale with squad size. It runs on PC from November 18 to December 2 and on console from November 26 to December 10.

Ranked and events

Ranked Season 44 is underway, with a P90 Ranked Weapon Skin as a permanent Tier Reward and higher minimum standards in Platinum and above. The update also brings the PUBG x IVE collaboration, PUBG Fantasy for PGC 2026, and PGC 2026 themes on starting planes and billboards. Crates and their keys will be removed from the game in the December update, Update 44.2.
