Cat-Astrophy Is Out Now, and Every Expedition Demands a Different Build

Cat-Astrophy is out now, and it asks a different question at the start of every run: what kind of build will you make this time?

The space action roguelite puts you in the role of Polo, a cat fighting across procedurally generated planets. Instead of a fixed loadout, you collect modules as you explore, and each one changes how you fight, move, or survive. Some sharpen close-range combat, others favour mobility or defence, and the most interesting ones only show their real value when combined — a simple upgrade can change how you attack, navigate a room, or chain a combo.

Combat is directional, with different attacks for striking forward, upward, and downward, and chaining attacks builds fatigue, so pressing on without pause has a cost. Planets can be tackled in any order from your ship, and rooms mix combat, parkour, events, shops, and minibosses, so no two routes play the same.

Death is not a full reset. Star Fragments collected during a run unlock permanent upgrades, new options, and new routes, while memory fragments gradually reveal Polo's past and the truth behind his abduction.

Cat-Astrophy is out now on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam for $14.99.
